In Scotch We Trust!

International Whiskey Day began to be celebrated in 2009, in memory of Michael Jackson, the writer and British whiskey critic.
Whiskey is a central ingredient in classics such as 'Manhattan', 'John Collins' and of course the 'Old Fashioned', one of our bestsellers, which thank God has returned to consciousness, thanks to Don Draper, the legendary Old Fashioned drinker, and together with the 'Cosmopolitan ' by Carrie Bradshaw - revived the cocktail culture that had sunk into a coma for several decades.

Sam Ross, a legendary New York mixologist, is also one of the dominant figures in the cocktail renaissance. During one of the shifts at 'Milk and Honey', he invented the 'Penicillin' cocktail, which has become a modern classic.
So how do you prepare the cocktail that is also a homemade antibiotic?

Pour into a shaker:
60 ml Scotch whiskey (but any other whiskey will also work)

20 ml fresh lemon juice
20 ml honey syrup (a tablespoon of honey mixed with a little hot water)
A slice of very crushed ginger

Shake everything in a shaker, pour into a low-ball glass, and close with a few drops (10 ml) of smoked whiskey such as Laphroaig  lagavulin, Ardbeg or Caol Ila.

Cheers!
And that whiskey will slide down the throat like water...
